"AVRA PALM" & HILLSIDE
MONDAY AFTERNOON
22/9/2014

HAMMURABI, THE LAW GIVER
(Aria da Capo)

ARIA 1

Book case, computer desk,
a studio long work table,
they don't look picturesque,
but they belong to fable.

They don't look picturesque
loaded on a big lorry,
but then, I like grotesque,
so, I can't say I'm sorry.

Computer desk, book case,
fifteen boxes of stuff,
if you could see my face
you would have a good laugh.

An Athens destination
for all that heavy load,
big trap of a mad nation
that cannot sense its bode.

ARIA 2

Slowly I'm moving out of Hillside,
today I went back to Avra Palm,
somehow I feel I fly or I glide,
without weight and that sea looks calm!

Slowly I'm moving out of expectations,
I don't know what the hell I did expect,
I'm out of all "respected" life's stations,
I don't belong to any secret sect.

I do enjoy much this sense of moving,
that endless sea, this tender breeze caress,
some bip- bop on the radio is grooving,
others would say that life is a mess.

I don't think so, it takes a bit more trying,
it takes the bull to take by the horns,
it takes a lot more work, a lot less crying
and never accusations and scorns.

Slowly I'm moving out of my habits,
of course I have my usual regrets,
I wasn't one of multiplying rabbits,
but still I will be followed by my debts.

I don't forget you Master Card or Visa,
I don't forget you American Express,
I don't forget your smile, my Mona Lisa,
oh fuck, I'm getting horny, did you guess?

I had good cards but still you had the ace,
a lousy player that you still may be,
I'm forced again to join the rat race,
On laws given by Hammurabi.

It takes guts and cynicism for this,
in short, the bull to take by the horns,
you never really reached that point of bliss,
but you can blame it on your mad hormones.

ARIA 1 (Da Capo)

Some photos and some bread,
a dark unfinished verse,
a sunset crimson red,
a farewell short and terse.

For my land lord this tip:
Sometimes take a breath,
or woods will take a trip,
but you ain't no Macbeth.

A shower lukewarm,
some text received or sent,
we may still lack in form,
but hell, we have content!

And as the night falls,
half ready I am still,
listening ghostly calls
of our love on this hill.
