He said
She said
Those that hear them
try not to take sides

he might be right
she might be a liar
and selfish

she might be right
he might be controlling
and selfish

so somehow
those that hear them
try not to take sides

and the truth
gets buried
further and further
from reality

you must see the system
through fresh eyes
you must step out of the paradigm
to see the real problems
to see where the lines between
real and not quite have been drawn

now replace he and she
with Republicans
and Democrats
and the media
of those that hear them

all we hear
IS the media
who, in an effort to remain
neutral
have lost the truth

nothing will change
until WE take note
take responsibility
understand what’s going on
admit to our own actions
and reactions
take control
take the gift of democracy and
become a government
of the PEOPLE (not money)
by the PEOPLE (not lobbyists)
and for the PEOPLE (not corporations)
