In bed alone I remember
I call your name and
I sense the impending danger
Of what already happened
And it feels like a brand new wound again.
How far does my voice carry?
I don't need your word to have faith.
I feel your soft whisper in my ear when I
Glance down at my hands.
Splashing water on my face, I drown
In what you have left behind.

All night long I remember
The first moment our eyes met and
The wind had blown you rough and
Beautiful and
Your face stopped my heart
I gave my head a shake,
Not certain if you were an angel.
When did the distance come to us?
Why couldn't you have told me right then,
That one day we would grow apart?
That one day, you might lose control
And not be able to find me again?

There wasn't anywhere for me to go.
No mountain for me to climb, to escape.
The way that your love swallowed my soul,
You ate me alive every hour
And I spilled in front of you,
Attentive to your greed.

When the rain falls I remember
How drenched in lust, we couldn't stop
How I screamed your name and your mouth ate my noise
Like a sword coming at me, I opened to your hands and
Waited to fall.
