You speak to me, but I don't hear you.
You explain to me, but I don't understand.
I stand here on my own two feet my head held high,
I wasn't suppose to make it this far.
I was born different I was littler I can't hear and I can't speak.
But I'm here, I'm yelling out no one hears me, I'm listening to music only I can hear.
They told me I wouldn't make it this far, they said I was born different but I'm not. I love, I laugh and hate I'm special because I made it this far.
I may not hear and may not understand.
But I have over come many more obstacles then anyone could imagine I'll stand on my own two feet and my head will be for ever held high.

I wrote this for my older brother who is now 28 they said he would never make it over 5 he has graduated high school and hopes to someday be a football coach for kids who have learning disabilities and who are deaf.
