How can I compare thee to this summers day?
tis only March and not yet May
true the sun shines from heaven above
but it has not the warmth of your love
one shade the more, one ray the less
which waves in every golden tress
the smiles that win the tints that glow
a mind at peace with all she knows
but tell of days in goodness spent
she gave a love so innocent
gently touching her hand she gave
her eyes did my soul at once enslave
as I pressed her lips in vain
they rose up to be pressed again
on her eyes my eyes did stay
and over her body my hands did stray
my soul stood ready for such a fight
but she did ravish me with such delights
