Anticipation’s impatient pressure
Robs the present of its pleasure.
So envy I apparent calm
Of still and sleeping feline form,
Beside me now, so soft and warm.
She lives in the present tense,
And simply does not seem to sense
The calm before the storm.
Inching even closer still,
Hoping that perhaps it will
Rub off on me like balm.
I horde these moments, and I treasure
Fleeting glimpses of a leisure
That will never be my norm.

~~

The cat is truly the master of leisure, for they have trained their pets so well.
