I have cut myself off,
and pared my mind deep.
I have broken the knife-
and let my soul steep.
Cut everyone out -
till my heart was ruined.
I blocked all my routes-
till all was congruent.

Trust feels like needles-
I have to pull out.
As I stood in the darkness-
blinded by doubt.
I can't consider-
letting you in.
When no one's allowed-
to touch my fair skin.

Touch brings to the surface-
the worms and their lies.
And it aches, and it hurts-
when they turn into flies.
It's the Truth that is human-
that lives in our eyes-
That makes us who we are-
destroyers of flies.
