from a vanishing corner of the sky
on whispered ethereal angel song

far beyond the rustling branches
far above the cumulus streaking

I hear a melody...

the plaintive song-flute
ancient holy chant
exquisite drone

all words are lost
to poignant emotion

a cooing mourning dove
just beyond consciousness

a newborn child laughing
just beyond time

a helping hand reaching
just beyond dimension

I am transfixed
for it is a poem calling

begging for release
needing to be written

as the dulcet tones fade
into beautiful memory

and the distant pipes
echo in my heart

I pick up my pen-

A voice!

When the creative voice calls ~ willingly partake of the inspiration being given. Loved the musical references. Well Done!

Your words

always inspire visual imagery that is beautiful and poignant. I wish I could write poetry instead of murder..lol. Great job Sack, you never disappoint.
