I'm wrong.
Mostly lived wrong
because it was hard
to break through my head
into what could be.
Head down,
bent over coffee,
eyes shut a moment
to dream possibility,
but when I open
and see the same me,
I'm ensnared by doubt.
I'm in the wrong place
with the wrong person
within the wrong life.
Long-term choices
stickier than
hair-removal wax.
But there's no Goo-gone
for what I've done.
So, instead, it is time
that will wear this out
and leave me free,
just a little more time,
or maybe you will help me.
Whatever the case,
I hear you lecture -
I hear the old me
in your words,
coming back to me
from a bedroom
of such brave hope
such determined optimism,
all done in peach-pink
and purple flowers.
Really, you're right,
and I know it.
Good stuff. I totally like this. You have some great lines in it. And yes, I can relate to some of it.
kinda sad but very sharp wording brought out your point nicely. i enjoy your poetry, i haven't seen you around much but everytime i read 1 of your poems, it catches my attention. very nice read!
....good read, Dream.....heavy with reality. Phrasing is excellent!
