A fifty-cent poet
in a five dollar world
I like the way you look
the way your hair is curled
down across your shoulder
flowing down your back
headline reads "Twenty Killed
in a Road-side Attach",

I like the way in bed
You click the TV dial
I like the way your eyes
twinkle when you smile,
I like the way you sometimes
lick your upper lip
Southern State Hurricane:
Ten Dead, Trailers Flipped,

I like the way you wake me
sometimes at two a.m.
telling me you'd like to
make love again,
I like the way you send me
pictures of your cat
Goldman Sachs Executives
holding out their hat,

I like to watch you find your clothes
dress before the mirror
inspecting each wisp of cloth
as if the purpose wasn't clear
I like to watch your savor
your last sip of tea
I like everything about you
except when you leave me...
