Each day we grow closer
Yet I become more afraid
How will I survive this pain
Can I make it on own yet again
My life in rubble all around me
A new me from amid the mess
Am I strong enough to make it
Can I take the pain just one more day
I look around me see the destruction
Your eyes catch mine, sparkling
Where I see pain and destruction
You see hope and light
As I emerge from the warzone
You are waiting with open arms
You have waited for me to see
All the time you were there
I had to find out on my own
