We meet again, you and I
Have not seen you in years,
Handsome as ever, and still not shy
You smile that smile

     ~oh God, that smile~

Eyes bright, dancing with light
You take my hand, gently at first
Kissing me slowly, deeply, I remember you
You are warm to my touch

     ~oh God, that touch~

Caressing my cheek, leaning close
I inhale, then let it go... sighing
Your fingers tighten around mine, you remember me
Eyes demanding I get lost in them

     ~oh God, those eyes~

We talk, we laugh, we ignore the world
Sharing our thoughts, our lives since
Reminising- days, years gone by
Seeming like yesterday as we rekindle

     ~oh God, the memories~

Speaking of what should have been
Trying to shut out what is
We can not face the morning
Knowing what we know is true

     ~oh God, the truth~

You hold me closer, tighter, not forever
I have to leave now, I must go
You need to return to her,
We must accept the painfully unacceptable

     ~oh God, the heartache~

It would be so easy for us
Easy to be in love again- did it ever dissappear?
It would be impossible, we know this
Impossible to be together

~oh God, what have we done~

We remain in touch, every day
You- living your life, me- mine
Voices deep, dark and longing
It is there, it is always there between us

     ~oh God, I need you~

Too much to lose, so much to gain
Caught between want and need, greed and lust
Is obligation and respect, fear and loneliness
Two choices, many worlds apart

~oh God, what do we do~

We take what we can-what we can't, we accept
We shed a few tears, and we smile bravely
Knowing in our hearts, deep in our core
Ours is real- not fade away

     ~oh God, I know-someday~
