I SAW THE MOON

I saw the moon last night,
There it was shining bright.

Wondered if you had seen it too?
Late at night, glowing down over you.

They tell me the 'Moon River is wider than a mile'
I think 'The Pond's' wider! But it still makes me smile.

To think that you could see, the same as I do.
And know each time I spot it, it reminds me of you.

I see you cuddled in a blanket to keep you cosy,
I hope by thinking of you, you don’t think I'm nosey?

I wonder if you see the stars shifting at night?
Moving towards you, go on close your eyes tight.

I'll put two fingers to my lips and blow the moon a kiss,
Hope it bounces toward you, don't want it to miss.

mindful.

Two lovers miles apart can each look at the moon and find a kind of togetherness within each of their hearts.

Sweet sentiments ~ who hasn't looked at the moon when separated from their lover, thinking of both looking at the same thing while wanting to be together.
