I saw you yesterday
Just an image in my mind,
I tried to erase it
Thought I left your memory behind.
Of your beautiful blue eyes
Your silky black hair,
I reached out to touch you
But no one was there.
I miss your strong arms
That use to hold me tight.
Your caressing voice
Telling me everything’s all right.
I miss your loving heart
That overlooked the faults of me,
I miss that gleam in your eyes
That only I could see.
I miss all the midnight walks
By ourselves along the sand,
The way you would look at me
The way you held my hand.
I saw you yesterday
Just an image in my mind,
I tried to erase it
But I can’t leave your memory behind.
