I wanted to love you
If only I had known how
I wanted to be with you
And I know better than that now
I wanted to understand
And you ever changed the tune
I wanted to take a stand
But I attempted this too soon
I wondered why this happened
And I cried for several nights
I feel I lost my best friend
But I can’t set it all to rights
Mistakes made are forever
And they cannot be erased
Part of me wished us together
But the truth it must be faced
You are no longer here
And I can’t imagine you back
Separated by lonely fears
And the real Love we both did lack
