in my eyes, you are the life
that makes me whole;
the image that sears itself
onto the surface of my heart.
in my eyes, your face is that
of an angel brought to earth
to set my soul on fire and
my body ablaze with passion.
in my eyes, your body is the one
that raises my level of desire
to the point that it becomes
the all consuming cente of me.
In my eyes, my darling, you
are the embodiment of all that
is loving and special; caring and the
very essense of mother earth.
in my heart, I know that I will
always and forever, love you!

Anonymousover 18 years ago...and the recurring structure is - or can be - a plus. I only wish there were some more concrete images, something that would engrave the poem in our minds. Souls on fire and bodies ablaze with passion are a dime a dozen in romanticly-driven poetry. I feel that if you steer away from that sort of clichés, there can be some real promise in here.
