in the beginning
there was the end

and in the end
there will be the beginning

but in between
there is light.

the distance that exists
is a universe of color

and stacked one upon another
they measure merely an inch

so for all that we know
all life is still primitive.

Form leads content

in this poem--the little strophes are stacked thin like the layers described by the content. Maybe another poem could expand the idea--but small and terse is right for this one, imo. :)

Seed

An interesting reflexion, Steve, but I can feel a greater poem just struggling to get out.
