Standing outside in the driving rain
hoping you can't see the pain.
The wind howls and blows
and only God knows.
I wait outside everynight
trying to give up this fight.
What more do I have to lose
when I know you don't mean your I love yous?
The words are an empty illusion
just hypnotic infusions.
Concocted to ensnare the mind and soul
and then tear the whole.
Yet, I still wait in the rain
holding in the pain.
Knowing the story all to well.
Stuck in my repitious hell.
You're still the reason
I am punished season after season.
Waiting to kiss the rain
to take away the pain.
