"What majesty to look upon
Such soaring aerial grace
Her feathers glinting in the sun
And strength etched in her face."
The mouse he thought these silent words
while gazing up above
He'd never seen such speed before
From Robin, Jay, or Dove.
The Hawk still circled overhead
All blue and gray and white
Her eyes did lock with awestruck mouse
Who squeeled loud with delight.
"She sees me now!", The mouse proclaimed
The mighty Hawk dove down.
"Perhaps she'll take me for a flight
upon her regal crown."
As she drew close and picked up speed
He pulled his arms out wide.
"I'm pleased to meet you, wondrous bird,
May I please have a ride?"
The mouse did get his ride that day,
but where he ended who can say?
