The globe of the earth I hold in my hand
the crystal feel of naked beach sand
a cold beer and the sun on my shoulder
from this point on it can only get colder,
But I see you there a speck in the distance
we walk together with little resistance
three meters apart we stop and we smile
we haven't been this close in awhile.

Last time together was an airport hotel
each a bit drunk but feeling swell
food from room service in bed in the buff
where we made love a little bit rough,
A bit rambunctious, like kids on a spree
acts of contrition that set us both free
trying to compress life into one night
then flying away far out of sight.

Should we resume where we ended last time
I admit your smile makes my heart rate climb
wearing nothing but a scrap of bright textile
I seem to be becoming slightly erectile,
You smile and say something about us
how we live our lives with no fuss
perhaps, indeed, should we replay our action
succumb to the pull of mutual attraction,
