Floating on this island
Adrift upon these clouds,
The sky fell down,
Around my life,
I walked through drizzled lands,
Head held down,
My tortured soul aground,
No hope, no love,
Lost within the heavy storm,
But I glimpsed a light,
A floating figure,
Moving ahead of me,
Just in my vision,
I followed,
I climbed higher,
I stripped myself of sodden clothes,
I followed with my lightened load,
Still further,
I left my life behind,
The clouds behind me,
As I climbed,
And as I reached the heights,
You were there for me,
You turned and smiled,
Held out your hand,
I stumbled towards you,
You whispered my name,
And all life’s fears,
Disappeared,
You beckoned me to sit,
Patted the ground besides you,
You laid your hand upon my shoulder,
As we shared the view before us,
Above the fluffy clouds,
High upon our island in the sky.
