It grows in your heart,
And sucks the plaque from
The walls of your veins.

It grows in your mind,
And usurps all before and
After it; dynamically.

It grows through your morals
And tangles them.
So they make you trip and fall
Those morals that keep you steady
And lawful, and honest.

It grows through your soul
And like sphagnum moss, envelops it
So that it looks like something;
Different.
Acts like something different,
Becomes something different.

It grows on your skin like the film of an onion
Sticky and sweet and pungent
Dirty yet clean.

It grows in the tepid air
Rising and falling on the
Tides and eddies; Above and Below.

It grows in your emotions
Flattening them, Truncating the peaks,
Sprinkling them with MSG,
To enhance the flavor.
Then it eats them,
One at a time,
Pulling the emotions
One from another,
Like fish sticks and thread.

It grows in your eyes,
And clouds them with,
Things that smell bad
But taste good.
