It's an optical illusion
That'll leave you belly up
Staring at the stars
Dazed and confused

Inside a promised tomorrow
That'll give you false hope
Full of doubt and sorrow

That'll smash your delusions
Spread mass confusion
Within the matter of your mind

That'll tweak your vision
Through a kaleidascope
Of mangled emotions

That's distorting itself
Inside a hall of mirrors
Reflecting joy off of pain

It'll give you pleasure
Then steal it away
Like night does to day

It'll feed your appetite for affection
Then leave you hungry for more
After it exits out your back door

It'll leave you on the corner of discontent
Begging for personal retribution
With hands scorned by dissatisfaction

It's an optical illusion
That'll love you and leave you
Broke and dishheartened
With no change to spare
