When two hearts come to meet
fluttering shadows rustling on a night wind
            then perchance,
life begins      anew and fresh
bursting in joy as the earth blooms
Before the first rains of the harvest Moon
fall like tiny drops of nectar
on a parched ground

Lights shimmer from afar
as she walks in splendour
yet as she comes closer
eyes close at the
brightness of her beauty
shaming even the Sun into hiding

golden birds of song
dulcet come hither
dark clouds disappear
would you have them be naught afore

He walks with her        sandalwood burning
the fragrances rise      borne on the breeze
can hope  be like them
dampened fires        subsuming all in its path

We walk together
and yet joined
as One and again separate
