dissonance in the mud
no harmony in her eyes
no fires like augers
to smolder me to the wall

frost in the blood
no warmth in her touch
no waves of pleasure
to envelop me in Summer

turmoil in the sea
no thoughts gently rocking
no passage though dire straits
to carry me from dusk till dawn

I stole her fires
I gave her Winter
I tore her sails
and left her weeping

I am sorrow here now
treading arctic waters
numb and flailing
while she sails Caribbean blue.
