City swelters, sleep no shelter,
In the street the evening heat,
People wired, drink inspired,
Pubs are filling, beer swilling,
Crowd is turning, fuse is burning,
Tempers flashing, bottles smashing,
Bricks start flying, women crying,
Cars alight now, people fight now,
Pulse is racing, what you're facing
Is kick your head in Armageddon.
Sirens near, with riot gear,
Cordon facing, fighters waiting,
Concrete flinging, batons swinging,
Line advancing, throwers dancing,
Collars grabbing, ringleaders nabbing,
Police move back, no attack,
Leaders gone, rambles on,
Pointless violence, longer silence,
Riot ending, quiet descending,
