Kisses Good Night

My baby, I'm writting this petite poem for you
Never in your life should you have to be blue
I want you to know how much love there is
With every hug and in every single kiss

You are my heart, child and I do love you so
From your head down to your little pinky toe
To me you are the biggest miracle in this world
It's a strange place into which you've been hurled

Your father's love you have never felt
'Cause of the cards that life had him dealt
He was not strong enough to deal with it all
So he escaped to a place, Walhalla he did call

I asked and I pleaded for him not to admit defeat
But he did not want to fight until his last heartbeat
His love was not strong enough for him to fight
So it is only me, who gives you kisses good night
