My smile knows a secret I'll never tell.
Would you shout if you touched the face of God?
Would you advertise it like a book for sale?
My God lives in an upstairs room
with torn angels decorating the walls.
He trembles when I touch his velvet skin.
My succor, my salvation, and my sin,
why should I announce it to one and all?
I touched the face of a green-eyed God last night.
My smile knows the secret I'll never tell.
