Today a black girl
told me she'd be a hungry
tigress at my feet;

At first I concurred,
given marks made by the cane
that I had wielded;

But, then the white burn
on her brown flanks made me say:
"more an okapi";

At which point, damn her,
she started giggling so hard
she never ate me.

Nicely done, how you used one word to change the whole flavor (pardon the pun) of the poem.
