I'm inclined to say I'm sorry
for any strife I've caused
If I made you worry
I'm inclined to say forgive me

I didn't mean to push
I didn't mean to force
I only meant to befriend
Not to cause remorse

I was stupid
I was selfish
Forgive me this
and anything else

I'm inclined to say I'm sorry
If I gave you fright
I was inclined to ask forgiveness
But instead I'll say goodbye

Lamentation

One rhyme does not a poem make.

This is more a tentative apology in a goodbye note

meant to make an easier let-down.

Which this does.

It could be restructured to become stronger.
