I am a lazy writer. I am unfair; I
Let the words do all the work.
Let them make the arduous trek
Up from the well-spring that is
My cerebellum. Sweaty to the
Core they jump onto the page
With a vitality that befits an
Aging mountain climber. And I
Am no taskmaster. You see,
That is my problem; I am no
Slave driver. When my words
Are too tired to work I throw
My hands up into the air.
“What are ya gonna do?”, I say
And move on with my day,
Chasing more important pursuits.
Others stand tall in their chambers
And beat their words until their
Blood flows thick like fertilizer.
But not me. I am a lazy writer.
