If I cannot hold you up, will you fall?
And if I cease to divert your pain, will life ever really matter, at all?
Sorrow comes and goes on soft winds at night
why, I sometimes wonder, is everything always a fight?
There are no answers and no puzzles can truly be solved
Of course it never stopped me, my heart loves to become involved
With you and your pain and trying to bring a smile to your face
I can only hold your hand so long. Please, I ask as I say grace-
Let me catch you when you fall.

Pristine tears will taint your soul and in your arms is all
Nothing more to say, no more tears to cry as move into the fall.
I want nothing more than to see your happiness, to taste your delicious smile-
Knowing that everything will be alright so soon; or at least, in some short while.
And that will make everything alright, somehow, some way.
Because we know that all is going to be, strangely, oddly okay.
So in this wish for hope and peace, I will divert you from the pain-
We'll leave behind the sorrow of today and try not to revisit this again.

If I cannot hold you up, will you fall?
With you and your pain and trying to bring a smile to your face
I can only hold your hand so long. Please, I ask as I say grace-
Let me catch you when you fall.
