From a distance I watch you, concern growing in my eyes,
wanting so much to hold you, I don't want you to cry.
My heart longs to soothe you, and to help calm your fears.
I care to much about you, to see you hurting and in tears.
But I can't do anything for you, if you won't let me in.

Past the barrier, the walls you've erected, in self defense.
Past the pain, past the rage, it doesn't make sense.
Let me in, please let me in, I am dieing for you,
Cause if I didn't care for you, I wouldn't be true.

Patience is what it'll take for me, to earn further trust.
For love is what drives me, won't stop till I'm dust.
The distance is hard for me, but I will hang on strong,
And what matters most to me, is I will be there before too long.
