Oh what joy & oh what fun
The festive season has begun
Watch the whey-faced parents run
To get your Christmas shopping done -
Oh what joy & oh what fun.

Hear them holler, hear them shout –
All the juvenile rabble, out
For their presents - without doubt
Each of them a grabbing lout -
Hear them holler, hear them shout.

Oh what laughter, oh what joy
As our little girl or boy
Tears the wrapper of each toy
Bought by us in your employ -
Oh what laughter, oh what joy.

Oh how pleasant, oh how nice!
They will wreck them in a trice
And something simple won’t suffice…
It is we that pay the price:
Oh how pleasant, oh how nice!

Hear them warble, hear them sing
Drowning angels carolling -
We will feel our eardrums ring
With the quarrels that you bring:
One day you’ll get the reckoning.

Brilliant carol with a justifiably menacing message in the end!
