Life in Secret

Everywhere and all around
Always silence never a sound
A piercing scream so silently heard
Prowling of a black cat never a stir

The hissing taunt of the serpents' tongue
In the air the laughing cries of the crow they hung
Striving perfection failing miserably
The Cheshire Cat grinning quizzically

Reflection of less than a plain blank wall
A skeleton in return scowling at the lifeless doll
So deceiving and unpredictable
Serenading everyone into a silent lull

Growing with heat and filling with cold
One night alone and the story lives untold
Through the wires and lead emotions unsaid
The roses hang upside down and dead
