a ship rolls quietly thru the misty night
avoiding the jagged edges of the rocks below
folded in the night mists ghostly arms
it silently skims to a destination unknown

the mists hugs the ship like a lost lover
caressing the aging wooden frame
the ship carries on through its waiting arms
trying to find land again

the mists silent song sings softly thru the night
luring the ship towards the unseen goal
"come to me come to me my gentle lover"
the mists sing silently to the hull

a glow appears on the horizon
the mists fall back in swirling pain
its caressing touch stiffens in fright
as the light comes round again

the ship glides on in quiet relief
towards the light in the mists
swirling back, the mists softly whispers
"there my lover sleep in quiet bliss
