Oh, little girl if only you knew,
How this day will forever change you.

You're sitting there, looking out at the sky,
But you don't know this isn't like any other drive.

You're going to the hospital, to stay for a while
Where all the pain will take away the smile.

But you have to go, its sad but true.
Your heart is broken, and they need to fix you.

Now as I watch you sit there in my mind,
A part of me wishes I could go back to that time.

To be there when you wake to smile and say,
"Don't worry, eventually the pain will go away."

Recovery will be tough, as you will soon see,
But if this weren't to happen, you would never become me.

Simple but powerful.

It really touched me.
