what do you do
when staring down the blue
and the hammer is cocked and ready

for there are souls
that live 'off' of what they stole
they are pride-less, shallow and petty

the key is not
when their pride was lost
but when will they gain it back again

thoughts grow narrow
looking down the barrel
of what a robber has in his hands

~

is it okay to see several perspectives at once when holding a gun to a thief's brow?

was it okay for men with guns to steal and loot during the floods in the south?

is it okay to kill for food?

there are always at least two perspectives to every action.

and not all policemen think the same.

thank you for giving me food for thought. that's what poetry is all about.

An interesting read ~

Can be read two ways;

Looking down the barrel facing the thief with loot in his hands, or

Looking down the barrel in the hands of the thief...

Either way, thought to give pause...
