How do I know who I am
Beneath the layers of material
I use to cover up my true essence
So as not to feel the pain?

How do I know where my path leads
When I cannot uncover the debris that is there?
When I see the garbage I have held on to
It makes me want to dig deeper into nothingness.

How do I know if I am living it right
When I have no concept of perfect?
How do I gain the experience to tell
If I have lost my way?

Through the façade of my over bright smile
I hide the hurt inside.
Stomping it down, so as not to feel
The disappointment and anger than I own.
