Sometimes I forget and
the most important things in life --
what I love the most --
fade behind a pressing list of chores.

The smile on someone special's face
A simple call from sisters far away
an evening with friends
are enough for me.

Intimacy is a gift.
Captured in moments as time passes by.
We put it behind when life offers no time
as though idleness and remembering are sins.

Women shopping together
Girls in buses giggling over life
Fathers and uncles playing chess
resonate in every heart of unity and love.

Reminding us of a smile, a hug
a fond memory of childhood or youth
a romance or unrequitted love
feelings real and forgotten
