She is like water, I am like land.
Water flows from here to there,
Dry land stays in one spot.

We are better together,
than we are apart.
We go together so well,
Most people can tell.

We are like night and day,
There would not be one without the other.

If you took day from night,
Nothing would be right.
If you took night from day,
nothing would stay.

She is content,
So am I.
But, is it enough?
I know it will be rough.

We both want to go,
We both want to stay.
There is much hurt,
And walls in the way.

Can we find what we once had?
I don't know, that makes me very sad.

Parts want to be free,
Parts don't want to flee.
When leaving seems better,
Somehow, we are pulled back together.

Years have gone by,
Something in me says ... TRY.
Is it within our grasp?
Can our relationship last?

Can we get past,
What we have done?
And try to clean the heart,
To give it a fresh start.

We have choices to make,
I hope they are right ... for everyone's sake.
We are strong together,
It could possibly get better.

If alone I see the sunset,
Never to rise again.
I will at least be thankful,
She was once my friend.
