Loves tender touch
I yearned to be in its world
That promised so much
I needed to be held
In its gentle embrace
As it filled my hearts
Dark and empty space
Then I saw its true form
I was left broken and uncovered
Against this worlds cruelty
Its true madness I soon discovered
I had no choice so I fled
And I left my torn heart behind
In the shadows I watched it wreak havoc
But no longer will I flee from its kind
Now love bears down upon
Me like an angry storm
And I’ll fight it to the end
To it I will never conform
It’s so succulent and so tempting
Will you be its puppet lying limp and still
Hoping, watching and waiting for it
Only to be animated by its unyielding will
Though love is not tangible
Love is a strong and remarkable force
Breeding and multiplying among the weak
But through my veins it will never course
No more glorious and righteous tales
Of its brilliant and magnificent treasures
Many have fallen under its evil spell
For those I’ll battle against its false pleasures
Teetering on the edge of reality
I stand unafraid and brazenly alone
Against loves wrath I’ll never give in
because within me love has no home
Another sad poem. Something written after a broken heart, no doubt.
You must not give up. Walk to the light.
After reading a few of your poems, your voice comes so resounding through that I could identify your poem without the author's credit.
Great poem.
