The strains of the red sand storm
blowing away the signs of humanity
whisper the song of loneliness
in the dreadful streets of the city.

All along the Grand Canal
where the Martians once took a dive
stand my dead pieces of work
rusting like they never were alive.

Under a miserable sun
we watched the end of earthling trees
and we kissed each others masks
on the road to eternity.

The caverns of Tharsis
so wide and empty of life
couldn’t hold the tears you cried
when i left for the earth and sky.

Our love was stronger than the rocks
but so scared you decided to stay
in the shadow of an extinct planet
with the ghosts of the Martian way.

I liked this poem, and i think it could be just a little better if you hadnt tried to rhyme..that would be my only suggestion, other than that, its a fine poem, and a good idea...maria
