May Day
Mayday
The house of cards
I have so diligently protected
Cradling it away from summer breeze
Autumn wind
And winter’s blizzards
Has crumbled in a spring storm

My delicate words are lost
As blunt truth is delivered
Not with anger
But with disappointment
Questions without answers
Fault without blame
Best efforts
Unrewarded

Our future unimagined
For despite the hard work
Of both the builders
The architecture has crumbled
We still have our cards
But they have been shuffled by the storm.
