Eyes close, expecting to have no sight.
Body numbs, wanting to feel nothing.

Mind is blank; begging thoughts to cease.
Pain blinds with its brightness.
Loneliness is blue ice, and
Memories ache from hunger.

Unknown slithers of me cry out.
Sounds I do not recognize explode.
Auditory image senses the inner pleas;
I am deafened by their sadness.

Hope evaluates and trembles. Yet,
Peace readies itself; for a very long journey.
