For a why I can’t understand
you strolled through my memories today.
Tried to think of other things
but there you were–
interrupting, interfering,
interjecting your memory
into my work, my play
into my fears, my dreams.

I thought about you today;
didn’t want to,
but I did.
Tried to think of someanybodything else,
but there you were,
not unwanted,
but unbidden.

I missed you today.
Didn’t want to,
but I did.
