Merlins stoop then
stall in September skies.
Fritz and Helmut dive
a petite mort to freedom

Tilly on her single knocker Norton
Brooklands' Queen, lapped at 106.
And fuelled a thought
of carburetted negative G

109's dive no more in 41
Merlins stoop on them.
Bring hurricanes
Spit fire and death

Fritz and Helmut are Channel mud
No petite mort they'll know.
No man can live who stays to fight
Miss Shillings mighty O.

If it makes no sense Google her.

That you know this

...is wondrous. The life-saving importance of such an orifice in that time is difficult to understand until you see a friend die in a stalled aircraft, I suppose. And no, I had no idea who Miss Tilly was until you referenced her. I took the challenge, Googled as directed and now I know. The petite mort that new knowledge gives is also its own reward. Excellent. -C

Funny and great!

And chilling, at that.

This is excellent!

Wonderful word play and a great flow. I'd lose the note at the bottom because I don't think you need it but really a great write.
