How many days did I look into those deep brown eyes with these deep brown eyes and see pain
for too many days and weeks I ignored what was clear to me
distracted by the things my mind alleged were important
I've forgotten them now
because somehow they are not important
now I know what matters
but knowledge isn't power
minute by minute
and hour by hour
the truth is blowing me away
I'm fading away fast
like a paper doll in a storm
I melting and tearing and screaming
and if I could look into those deep brown eyes
with these deep brown eyes
all my eyes would show is soul
and my soul would would sing a gentle love song
as lips spoke of rights no longer wrong

Poignant

Beautiful work. Your writing flows with ease. I wish you would or could take the time to post more often.
