You died early that morning,
I still remember the violins
mimicking that revolting sound
as bow and string vibrated
in the slicing flow of music.
The strange harmony repels me,
attracts me, repels, attracts
as I listen to the hiss
of a chemical melody
and I hear the ghosts sing
a sticky sweet siren song.
I float in a rhythm of breath,
drifting toward the song,
chemical melody… breathe,
taking me… breathe, breathe,
to silence.
