he bent back her head and kissed her
softly at first
and then with a swift gradation of intensity that made her cling to him as the only solid thing in a dizzy swaying world sending wild tremor along her nerves
evoking from her
sensation she had never known capable of feeling
And before a swimming giddiness spun her round and round,
she knew she was kissing him back

I feel like I've become numb to... good emotions... like in trying to stave off bad ones, I've had to shut them all down and this poem just strikes me as... words...empty and fruitless. Sad. But when you don't know what you believe, how can you believe anything?
